I hate this course. Some people like it. I am not one of those people. The course was in great shape when I played it. There are many scenic holes (from the fairway, not from the tee) and it is out in the wilderness away from the city, so its peaceful. Now...the layout of this course is a complete joke. Its a real shame because the land is spectacular. I think someone designed this while trying to make a big name for themselves, or trying to do something different that would stand out. Almost every hole requires advanced knowledge of the course because the landing area is blind, tiny, or both. There was a hole where I played a 7 iron off the tee and hit a 9 iron approach. Yes, a 7 iron off the tee. Most of the time, i just listened to the guy I was playing with. I'd hit my 5 iron or 4 iron in the area where he told me to hit it and I'd shrug and say "okay, if you say so..." That..to me...is no fun. I scored pretty well (78 from the tips...pretty good for me) but felt like I had no fun. Except for the first hole, I don't really remember ANY of the holes. I just remember hitting toward trees and trying to hit a very specific yardage. So many 90 degree dog legs. Don't get me wrong...it's find if you want a quirky hole or two...or a small, green-sized patch of fairway that you have to hit in order to go for the green...but in MODERATION. This is basically the whole course. If I hadn't been playing with a "regular" I would have NEVER thought to hit the shots that I did. The scorecard does not prepare you for the actual shots that you need to hit. So to summarize, the facilities are nice. The conditions are superb, the course isn't too hard (as long as you already know the right place to aim, i guess), but you never get that satisfaction of watching your ball bounce down the fairway. Except for the first hole, which was the one and only hole that I used my driver. So if you're into that sort of thing, you won't be disappointed. Its probably the nicest of this type of course that I have played...I just hated it.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
